Sunshine Trust FAQs
Why has the Albury Wodonga Regional Cancer Centre Trust Fund changed their name
to Sunshine Trust?
1
In the interest of transparency, it is vital to have an independent identity within our region, and Sunshine Trust will help to provide this. We are proud of our connection to our major fundraising events such as the Sunshine Walk, and want to further deepen that connection to those events. Our previous name was quite long, which made branding challenging and restricted growth opportunities. This change helps us keep things clear, consistent, and ready for the future.
Will The Sunshine Trust still support the pillars of the AWRCC Trust Fund?
2
Yes. Our operations and key initiatives that we currently support will remain the same.
When did the Trust Fund decide to change its name and branding?
3
This project has been in the works since mid-2024. Preliminary concepts were designed in that year, and progress has been steady in line with strategic priorities of the board.
Has the transition from a public and privately run Cancer Centre to a fully public operated model been a factor in the rebranding process?
4
No. The Sunshine Trust rebranding project had begun well before the announcement of this transition. Furthermore, we have received reassurance that none of our flagship programs will be directly affected by the result of this transition. We remain committed to supporting Cancer Care in the Albury-Wodonga region with a significant portion of those funds going to the AWRCC.
How will this affect community fundraisers and donors?
5
In short, it won’t. Our processes will still be the same as before, only with better branding opportunities. It opens up the chance for fundraisers to include “Sunshine” in their event name. E.g. Sunshine Morning Tea, Sunshine Fun Run, Sunshine Bake Sale etc.
Should we expect any major changes in your operations?
6
No. Outside of our team answering the phone differently and wearing a new logo on their shirts, our operations will remain the same. Our old email addresses will still be monitored; however, you are encouraged to send any further correspondence to our new email address. We are also updating our website to be a more modern and simplified version.
Will the quarterly Shine Newsletter still be released?
7
Absolutely! We excited to continue to bring news about our wonderful and creative community events, whilst also keeping you informed on where the hard earned money has gone.
